1) Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether (AEO)
Performance: Different alkyl chain lengths in AEO result in different lipophilicity. Different EO numbers result in different water solubility. For example, coconut oil alcohol products can be used as detergents, while C18 alcohol products can only be used as emulsifiers and leveling agents. Natural alcohols have better cleaning and emulsifying properties than synthetic alcohols, while synthetic alcohols have better water solubility due to the action of odd carbon atoms. The more EO added, the stronger the water solubility of the product. When the EO number is below 6, AEO is oil soluble, and if it exceeds 6, it is a water-soluble product. The more EO, the lower the cloud point of the product.
① Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (3) ether (AEO3, emulsifier FO or MOA-3) is liquid at 25 ℃ and has functions such as emulsification, leveling, and permeation. It can be used as an auxiliary component in liquid detergents, or as a leveling agent, textile oil agent, etc.
② Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (5) ether (AEO5, wetting agent JFC), synthesized from C7-C9 alcohol, with an EO number of 5. It is a liquid at room temperature and has good wetting and permeation properties. Mainly used in industries such as textile printing and dyeing, papermaking, etc., as a leveling agent, penetrating agent, wetting agent, and auxiliary ingredient in industrial washing.
③ Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (7) ether (AEO7, emulsifier MOA-7), using C12-C16 coconut oil alcohol, EO number 7, light yellow liquid. Has good wetting, foaming, cleaning and emulsifying properties. Has high degreasing ability and resistance to hard water. It can be widely used in various detergents (such as metal cleaning agents, fiber detergents) and other additives.
④ Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (9) ether [AEO (9), flat add 9], selected C12-C16 coconut oil alcohol with an EO number of 9, is the most commonly used main component of detergents, with functions of stain removal, emulsification, degreasing, velvet reduction, and wetting. Widely used as the main detergent. Especially suitable for washing non-polar matrices such as synthetic fibers and other hard surfaces. Used as a degreaser, velvet reducing agent, emulsifier, etc. in the textile printing and dyeing industry.
⑤ Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (10) ether (AEO-10), using C12-C18 fatty alcohol with an EO number of 10. The product is soluble in water and has good wetting, emulsifying, cleaning, degreasing, and hard water resistance properties. It can be used as a detergent, wetting agent, textile oil component, and pesticide emulsifier in the detergent and textile industries.
⑥ Fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene (15) ether (flat add 15, AEO-15,OS-15). The product has excellent emulsifying, dispersing, and cleaning properties. Mainly used as a leveling agent in the textile printing and dyeing industry. Also used in industrial detergents, such as metal processing cleaning agents. It is also used as an emulsifier in cosmetics, pesticides, and inks.
⑦ Aliphatic alcohol polyoxyethylene (22) ether (AEO-22 leveling agent O): It has excellent foam and high dispersing power to prevent dye precipitation during dyeing, and can also be used as a washing ingredient.
⑧ Oil alcohol polyoxyethylene (5,10) ether (oleoyl alcohol ether-5 or -10): The product appears as a white or slightly yellow liquid to wax like substance. There is a special irritating odor, and the higher the EO, the more viscous the product becomes. The product has emulsifying power, dispersing power, and cleaning power. Detergents, emulsifiers, etc. used for special occasions.
(2) Alkyl phenol polyoxyethylene ether (TX-10, OP-10)
Alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether is formed by condensation of alkylphenol as an oleophilic group with ethylene oxide. The oleophilic groups among them can be phenol, cresol, naphthol, etc., and the most valuable one is nonylphenol. The average number of ethylene oxide connections also varies. Taking nonylphenol as an example, it is still insoluble in water when subjected to 4 EOs. When added to 6-7 EOs, the product is completely soluble in water at room temperature. The product condensed with 8-12 EOs has excellent wettability, permeability, and washing ability. The emulsifying ability and low foaming effect are valuable properties of this product. When EO condenses to 15 or more, the product loses its permeability and washing ability, and is only used as a special emulsifier and dispersant.
Performance: High chemical stability, resistant to strong acids and alkalis, with good wetting power, permeability, cleaning power, and strong emulsifying power. In addition, its low foaming, anti-static, hard water resistance, and good compatibility are also its widely used excellent properties.
Usage: Widely used as an industrial and public facility detergent. Such as metal acid cleaning agents, alkaline detergents, metal water-based cleaning agents, stoves or kitchenware detergents, textile industry detergents, leveling agents, and various hard surface cleaning agents.
(3) Fatty acid polyoxyethylene (10) ester (emulsifier SE-10)
Performance: Polyoxyethylene (10) esters of fatty acids have weaker penetration and cleaning power than products of fatty alcohols and alkylphenols, and are mainly used as emulsifiers, dispersants, fiber oil agents, and dyeing aids. Its chemical stability is also poor, and it is easily hydrolyzed under strong acid or alkali conditions, resulting in a significant decrease in performance. The product is insoluble in water and can be dispersed in water, providing thickening, softening, and wetting effects.
Usage: Cosmetics, shoe polish emulsifier, chemical fiber anti-static agent, softening and smoothing agent, thickener for liquid detergent, dyeing assistant, etc.

(4) Fatty amine polyoxyethylene ether (leveling agent AN)
Performance: This type of surfactant has both non-ionic and cationic properties, can be used at various pH levels, and exhibits non-ionic (in alkaline or neutral solutions) or cationic (in acidic solutions) properties, with excellent emulsifying power, corrosion inhibition performance, and anti fouling effect.
Usage: Mainly used as a dyeing assistant in the textile industry. It is also commonly used in the production of artificial silk, which can not only enhance the strength of the fiber filament, but also maintain the cleanliness of the spinneret hole and prevent the deposition of dirt. The use of acid gas in the petroleum refining industry can suppress the corrosion of metal equipment and improve equipment utilization. It can be used as an auxiliary component in industrial detergents.
