Poly dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride is a polymer compound, often abbreviated as Polydadmac,PDMDAAC,PDADMAC. It is a cationic polyelectrolyte, meaning it carries a positive charge along its polymer chain. It is widely used in various fields: as a cationic coagulant in sewage treatment, mining, and mineral processing processes; as a non-formaldehyde fixing agent in the textile industry; in the papermaking process, it serves as an anionic trash catcher and AKD curing promoter; in the oilfield industry, it functions as a drilling clay stabilizer and an acidizing fracturing cationic modifier for water injection. Additionally, it is employed as a regulator, antistatic agent, humectant, shampoo, and skincare emollient.
Its CAS name is 2-Propen-1-aminium,N,N-dimethyl-N-propenyl-,chloride homopolymer,and its CAS number is 26062-79-3.The molecular formula is (C8H16NCl)n.

The poly dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride is a strong cationic polyelectrolyte, appearing as a colorless to pale yellow viscous liquid. It is safe, non-toxic, soluble in water, non-flammable, exhibits strong coagulation properties, has good hydrolytic stability, does not form gels, and is insensitive to changes in pH. Additionally, it has chlorine resistance. Its freezing point is approximately -2.8°C, specific gravity is about 1.04 g/cm³, and decomposition temperature ranges from 280 to 300°C.
